According to Rosstat, Russia in January-may this year, imported 325 thousand tons of palm oil and its fractions, which is 11% lower than the same period last year. In may, imports decreased by 15.9% to 59.7 thousand tons.

Import Cocos (koprovogo) oil and babassu oil for the first five months increased by 4.5% to 35,1 thousand tons. Continued growth in the supply of sunflower, safflower and cottonseed oil in January-may, imports increased 6.4% to 6.5 thousand tons.

In 2016, Russia imported 885 thousand tonnes of palm oil and its fractions, which is 0.4% lower than a year earlier.
