The Committee's experts predict an increase in yield by 51% from a year earlier, reports Reuters. According to the CEC report, the corn harvest in South Africa are expected in the area of 15.77 million tonnes, against of 7.78 million tonnes collected last year.

The farmers of South Africa was not afraid after a severe drought last season, which caused great damage to agricultural producers in 2017 to increase the area under sowing of maize.

The expected harvest will be one of the largest in the country, which will surpass the record of 1981, when local farmers were collected 14,656 million tons of corn.
