According to the new forecast, the production of rapeseed in the EU in the 2017/18 season will amount to 21.7 million tonnes (21.86 million tonnes in the previous forecast), which is 6.7% higher than last year, sunflower seed production compared to last season, will grow by 10.2% to 9.26 million tonnes (8.96 million tonnes in the previous forecast), soybeans – by 3.6% to 2.58 million tonnes (2.63 million tonnes in the previous forecast).

The forecast of sown areas increased for sunflower from 4.17 million hectares to 4.24 million hectares (+3.7% compared to last season), but decreased for rapeseed – from 6.74 million ha to 6.69 million hectares (+2,6% compared to last season), and for soybeans was unchanged at 0.98 million hectares (+ 15.3% against the previous season).

The yield forecast is also raised only for sunflower - 2.12 tons per ha to 2.18 tons per hectare (+6.3% against last year), and lower for rapeseed - from 3.25 tons ha to 3.24 tonnes per hectare (+3,8% compared to last season) and for soybean – S2,69 tons ha to 2.64 tonnes per hectare (-9,6% from last season).
