A group of Israeli private buyers has purchased about 75,000 tonnes of corn, 30,000 tonnes of feed wheat and 3,000 tonnes of feed barley in an international tender which closed on Thursday, European traders said on Friday.
The corn purchase comprised about 25,000 tonnes for June/July shipment bought at $289.20 a tonne c&f, 20,000 tonnes for August arrival at a premium of 82 and 83 cents over the Chicago July corn contract and 30,000 tonnes for September arrival at a premium of $1.22 over the September Chicago corn contract.
The August arrival corn purchase was the equivalent of $292.90 a tonne c&f, a trader said.
Of the feed wheat, some 15,000 tonnes for July/August shipment was bought at $258 a tonne c&f and 15,000 tonnes for August/September shipment was bought at $258 a tonne c&f.
The barley was for August/September shipment and was bought at $268 a tonne c&f.
