Hong Kong scientists invented new type of GM-potatoes
Scientists developed potatoes resistant to virus.

Researcher Valentina Otang Ntui and her colleagues from University of Chiba created
genetically modified potatoes possessing exclusive resistance to strains used
for tests of cucumber mosaic virus (CMV).
Danshaku grade, quite susceptible to this virus, was used as a basis for carrying out
genetic engineering. The created GMO plants showed 100% immunity to CMV-O and
CMV-Y virus strains.
