Russia's southern regions prepare for winter crops sowing

Interfax South reports about preparation for winter crops sowing in North Ossetia and Krasnodar Krai. According to the agency, North Ossetia started to plough land for winter crops sowing.
Farmers plan to sow under winter crops 38 thousand hectares – approximately the
same as last year. Rates of arable land preparation delayed because of rains,
but the sowing campaign has to begin in time.
Krasnodar Krai intends to begin winter crops sowing on September 15, according to the
regional Ministry of Agriculture. The area under winter crops will increase by
1% in comparison with last year and will make 1,515 million hectares. 1 million
357,4 thousand hectares from them will be sown with winter wheat, 155,7
thousand hectares - winter barley and 44,6 thousand hectares with winter rapeseed.
