17 July 2014 chief veterinarian of the Republic of Poland informed about confirmation of the ninth case of ASF in pigs on the territory of the Republic of Poland. The ninth case of ASF is a group of six of the fallen wild boars, found 15 July 2014 in the forest on the territory of the municipality Grodek (Belostotsky County, Podlasie Voivodeship), at a distance of about 1.5 kilometers from the village Skroblaki, about 3.5 kilometres from the previous place of discovery of the remains of wild boars (seventh case), and about 7.5 km from the Polish-Belarusian border.

From all the fallen wild boars samples were taken with the aim of the study on the subject of the disease outbreak. The study, carried out by the national laboratory ASF (results of 17 July 2014), confirmed the presence of the genetic material of the virus in the samples, according to the representative of the European branch of MAOA "Green Front" Alexey Kovtun.

Last week in order to prevent the disease, Chief veterinary doctor of Poland gave permission for shooting 3.2 thousand wild boars.
