The Federal service for veterinary and phytosanitary supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) has registered an outbreak of African swine fever (ASF) in the agricultural enterprises Kuznetsovsky in Oleninskom district of Smolensk region. In neighbouring Pochinkovsky district are situated a large pig-breeding enterprises of the region - "Smolenskoe field" with the population more than 100 thousand and Smolensk product" with a 32-thousand population, reports the news Agency PRIME news with reference to the Department.

On the territory Leninskogo district has quarantined for a period of not less than 30 days.

In the hearth of the virus, at the agricultural enterprises Kuznetsovsky livestock have already been destroyed, the room in which they were held, will be burned.

Management is considering several versions of the possible entry of the virus on Leninskoe the company, including contact of employees with wild animals.

There has recently been two major outbreaks of ASF in industrial predpriyatiyah in the Voronezh region on the agricultural enterprise "Nikolaev" in Pskov region in Velikie Luki meat-packing plant.
