Rising food prices on Sakhalin reaches 60%

The Sakhalin oblast government intends to prevent a further increase in the prices of the products currently in the region recorded a growth rate of 3 to 60%.

"To date, the region registered a growth of wholesale prices for cheese - 10%, meat - 15%, thighs - 60%. The increase in retail prices is 3-60%", - said today at the session of the Council on food security the government of the Sakhalin region, the Minister of agriculture, industry and trade Nikolay Borisov.

According to him, there has been a growth of wholesale prices in Primorsky Krai is the main supplier of products to Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands. Thus, the price of meat increased by 26 percent, Chinese apples - to 30%, fish - 40%.

Sakhalin Governor Alexander Khoroshavin instructed the Ministry and regulatory organizations to deal with the pricing in each case and to prevent unjustified price increases.

According to the head of the island region, Sakhalin created all the conditions for saturation of the food market. "In the region implementing the state program on development of agriculture for 2014-2020 total budget of 12 billion rubles with the prospect of increasing. Today we are 100% our own potatoes, egg, almost 80% vegetables, partially milk and meat", - said the Governor.

According to him, there are agreements with Russian regions, which supply products to the Islands. "We need to expand the geography of deliveries and in the speedy pace of implementation of investment projects in the sphere of agriculture", - said Khoroshavin.

He was instructed to bring to the monitoring of food prices and public organisations. Special attention to the head of the island region drew on the Kuril Islands. "The islanders should not feel himself a shortage of food products", - said the Governor.
