Three major producers of palm oil in the world - Cargill, Wilmar and Golden Agri-Resource - will work to stop deforestation.

The intention of the three companies was announced at the UN summit on climate change. Previously it was announced that Cargill joined the Fund in the revival of forests (The Forest Trust), an international nongovernmental organization that works with companies to create a reliable supply chain.

CEO Cargill, David McLennan, in a public speech to the UN Secretary-General ban Ki-moon promised that the company will work to prevent deforestation in the production not only of palm oil, but also all other products.

Secondly, Germany, England and Norway has allocated $1 billion to help Peru and Liberia in the protection of forests.

And third, what is the most important, five of the world's largest producers of palm oil has agreed to suspend logging for a period of one year until the study is to identify solutions. This study on the carbon content in the atmosphere will provide reliable information about greenhouse gas emissions and socio-economic decisions about the organization of oil palm plantations. The research is funded by the companies Wilmar International, Cargill and Unilever.
