The Kirov district court of Astrakhan was placed under house arrest accused of abuse of office of the former Minister of agriculture Ivan Nesterenko, RIA "Novosti".

"Investigation at the request of Nesterenko preventive measure in the form of house arrest for a period up to January 12, 2015", - said the representative of the court.

In relation Nesterenko initiated a criminal case under article 285 of the criminal code (abuse of power). The details of the case, the regional representative of the insurance company chose not to disclose "in the interests of the investigation".

Ex-Minister arrested on November 14, after a search in the office. According to Astrakhan edition "point a", Nesterenko suspected improper expenditure of budgetary funds, because he sent a large sum of investment in the company, which was later privatized at a lower cost.

Nesterenko was head of the agricultural office of the region in 2005, he was removed from office in October in connection with the formation of a new government.
