Over the last two years, exports to 42 countries produced in Georgia wines grew by 250%, said Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of a new plant for the production of wine in the village Keda (Western Georgia), the Prime Minister said that "such successful results give more incentive to peasants and farmers, as well as companies expand their vineyards, more intensely engaged in viticulture and winemaking".
According to the National wine Agency of the Ministry of agriculture of Georgia, in 2012, out of the country as a whole was exported 23.3 million bottles of wine (0,75 l), in 2013 - 44.6 million bottles of wine (0,75 l), and for the first 9 months of the current year - 42.8 million bottles of wine.
