The Finnish export of goods to Russia decreased in January-September 2014 at 12%, the import of Russian goods in Finland decreased by 15%. These data are published today by the Finnish customs.

It was said that the exports began to decline in the autumn last year after three years of growth, therefore, the crisis of the current year did not have in this regard, the dominant effect.

Currently, according to estimates by the Finnish customs, the volume of exports from Finland to Russia in money terms is €3.5 billion, import - €6.8 billion

The most significant decreased exports of chemical and wood industry, metallurgy, food, machinery and equipment. Delivery vehicles and electronics, in contrast, grew.

Many important groups of imported goods, emphasized in Finnish customs, the recession also began in 2013); the Exception here was only chemicals imported from Russia to Finland is not reduced. In this case indicators of import to Finland Russia is still the leader: last year, its share in the Finnish imports amounted to 18%, the share of Germany - 12,6%, Sweden - 11.5 percent. In 2014 the share of Russia in the Finnish imports in January - September was 15.8%, Germany 13.3 per cent.

The share of Finnish exports to Russia last year was 9.6%, in Sweden - 11,6, in Germany of 9.7%. This year the Russian Federation retained the third place on this indicator, although export volumes declined to 8.4%. Whereas the share of Germany accounts for 12.2% of the exports from Finland, the share of Swedish - 11,1%.

According to the announced in the autumn forecast of the Trade representation of Russia in Finland, the trade turnover between the two countries on the results 2014 can be reduced by more than 13% against the background of unfavorable economic conditions and the difficult situation in the world.

Thus, the value of exports of Russian goods will be lower than last year and $11.7 billion, which is 12% below the 2013 level. Imports of goods also expects the recession to $4.5 billion - a minus of 16.7% by 2013.

Thus, according to the estimates of the trade mission, by the end of 2014, the Finnish foreign trade turnover of $16.2 billion, a decrease of 13.4% compared with 2013.
