February 25, 2015, the Executive Director of the oldest enterprises of Karelia "Onega tractor plant" (part of "Concern tractor plants") Dmitry shoemakers and rector of Petrozavodsk state University Anatoly Voronin signed a cooperation agreement between the company and the University.

The document was signed during the meeting, initiated by the Ministry of industry and trade of the Russian Federation, on which were two Deputy Executive Director of LLC "HTA" on General issues A. I. Dreizis, Deputy Executive Director on economic issues H.M.Bystrov, Deputy rector on scientific-research work of C. S. sunev, Advisor to the rector, head of Department of technology and organization of the forestry complex of the Institute of forestry, engineering and construction Sciences I. P. Siegelman.

The development of close links between the "Onega tractor plant" and PetrSU and creation on the base of the plant engineering center was included in the Federal target program "Development of the Republic of Karelia for the period till 2020".

Recall that in December 2014 during the meeting of the state Commission on preparation for the 100th anniversary of Karelia, Deputy Minister of industry and trade Georgy Kalamanov told about joint plans with the Ministry of education to create a centre of competence on the basis of Petrozavodsk University and "Onega tractor plant" that will perform including the functions of the engineering center. Then it was noted that "he can train engineering staff for the HTA and to train professionals to work on producing vehicles. Thus will be increased scientific and technological potential of the industry and created the conditions for retention in the region young professionals."

After signing the agreement on cooperation between the Executive Director of "Onega tractor plant" Dmitry boots drew attention to the fact that "the signing of the contract with the Petrozavodsk state University is an important milestone in the development of relations between the company and the educational institution, in particular, in the application of scientific, innovative technology of the University in our company".

Rector of PetrSU Anatoly Voronin supported Dmitry Sapozhnikova, saying: "I am Confident that the cooperation of PetrSU and the HTA will benefit the development of the plant through the introduction of new technologies design research. Our students will be able to undergo practical training at the plant. We will work together."
