In Lugansk food prices have doubled

Due to the unstable exchange rate of the dollar, the price for products in Lugansk has doubled. The Directorate of trade, consumer services, public catering and consumer protection of the Luhansk city Council in connection with the rise in prices has sent a request to the Ministry of economic development and trade proclaimed Luhansk national Republic (LNR).

"Our management has sent a request to the Ministry of economic development and trade LNR, where we were asked to provide clarification on issues of allowed charges for socially important group of goods. Response is still not received. We do not have the right to adjust the price of products in Lugansk, but only observe the volatility of the prices and relevant information to pass on to the higher authorities", - said the head of Department Sergey Quarter.

According to him, due to rising prices the employees of the office twice a week to check prices on the markets for socially important food group.

According to the observations of Corr. TASS, the cost of sugar from 17 UAH increased to 30 UAH. A dozen eggs cost up to 16 UAH, now it costs up to 25 UAH. Meat is 90 - 100 UAH, 1 kg chicken liver will cost 55 UAH, although its price was 30 UAH. The price per litre of vegetable oil rose from 19 to 30 UAH, and the price of potatoes in the supermarkets of the city is 11 UAH per kg, however, the markets Lugansk - 14 UAH, but worth 7-8 UAH on the market, supermarkets 5-6 UAH per kilo.

Prices for dairy products have not changed since its imported from the territory proclaimed Donetsk national Republic (DND). The price of bread also remains unchanged: 5,5 - 6 UAH.

The rise in price of products in Ukraine

Official data on inflation, according to the state statistics service, in January totaled 3.1 per cent. Compared with January 2014 January 2015 consumer prices increased by 28.5%. For 2014, on the whole, inflation in Ukraine was 24.9%. In 2015, the government expects inflation to 13.1%.

For the first time during the years of independence of Ukraine all social standards and guarantees frozen at the level of December of 2013, and it's at 25% inflation and 150% devaluation of the hryvnia only for 2014.
