A bill to provide at least 25% of the total number of trading places on the universal market the citizens, a leading private (peasant) farms, private farms or engaged in gardening, horticulture, animal husbandry, introduced in the state Duma deputies, reports RIA Novosti.

Under the bill, the market share will be provided primarily to the citizens of the region in whose territory it is located. And only if the share of local farmers will be less than 25%, or these places are no bids, then the place to get farmers from other regions. Entrepreneurs will be able to work in the markets only if there are no bids from local farmers and entrepreneurs from other regions.

The bill is aimed at supporting Russian farmers and improving trade legislation. The authors of the document believe that its adoption will contribute to the creation of conditions for the import of food products on the shelves of retail chains and markets of the Russian Federation subjects by establishing mandatory minimum share of retail space for the sale of goods of local producers".
