On Friday, in its new forecast and the balanced report of the European Commission adjusted the estimates of the harvest of soft wheat and maize in the EU in 2015/2016.

Estimation of gross yield of soft wheat was reduced to 149,1 million tons (October estimate – 149,2 million tons), but it still exceeds the record of last year – 148.7 million tons.

Evaluation of maize crop was increased to 57.5 million tons from the previous estimate of 57.4 million tonnes, which is 26% below the record of 2014 of 77.9 million tons.
