Now the Vologda company contains the largest brood stock of sturgeon fish. Last year the company produced about 18 tons of black caviar, representing almost 70% of the total volume of caviar produced in Russia. This year the number of eggs increased to 22 tons. The company also supplies on the shelves for more than 76 tons of fish annually. Now the volumes produced in the region of sturgeon will increase two-fold, and the number of eggs produced by 10%.

"The crisis definitely affected us, but we prefer to look at it from the other side. It is not only problems but also opportunities. For us, in particular, it is an opportunity to promote our goods on the international market. With the change of the ruble exchange rate has become more competitive. And currently our products are not delivered, perhaps, only in Australia. Delivery of a special caviar even go to the international space station. And the coming New year, the astronauts will meet with our caviar", — said General Director of the enterprise kaduysk Mikhail Novikov.

The entrepreneur said, and why caviar is so expensive — even Vologda. According to him, previously produced about 2 thousand tons of black caviar per year, but over the past 60 years sturgeon in Russia was virtually exterminated. Now the total production volumes of valuable product in Russia does not exceed 30 tons. Offer declined and the demand remained at the same level. In addition, sturgeon require expensive feed, and the receipt of eggs each fish need to grow about 8 years.

We will add that in 2016 in Kaduy the planned introduction of a further three modules of the hatchery, which will allow to increase capacity more than 200 tons of sturgeon.
