The Ministry of agriculture of Japan has purchased 150,817 thousand tons of food wheat from the U.S., Canada and Australia in a regular tender that closed late on Thursday, according to Agro2b.ru with reference to Reuters.

Japan is the sixth largest importer of grain in the world.Wheat for the country is the second most important product after rice.

Purchase of wheat is held within the framework of the regular tenders of the Ministry of agriculture of Japan.

The grain should be delivered in the period between 21 March to 20 April 2016.
