Europe's largest farm breeding rabbits will be built in Leningrad region by 2017. The agreement on this project with an investment of over 1.2 billion rubles signed at the St. Petersburg international economic forum with the participation of Governor of the region Alexander Drozdenko.
"The agreement will allow to implement an investment project of more than 1.2 billion rubles. This year the company will complete the design, and next put into operation the first phase of the complex, which will begin to supply the North-West of Russia quality dietary meat," - said the Governor at the signing ceremony of the document.
The farm will work in the Luga district of the region, its production capacity will reach about 1.2 million tons of meat per year, making the company the largest in Europe. It is expected that the new facility will provide the needs not only of the Leningrad region, but also neighboring regions of the North-West, thus creating 150 new jobs in rural areas.
For the construction of the farm is already allocated land, there is carried out the preparatory work for the clearing of the site. Currently the company is awaiting the approval of the technical conditions and obtaining permits.
