The party "United Russia" proposes to make the rate on loans for agricultural enterprises not more than 5%, said the Deputy of the state Duma, the head of the state Duma Committee on agrarian issues Nikolai Pankov (EP).

"The main emphasis made on the fact that agriculture should be self-sufficient. For this purpose, and the proposed mechanism for credit availability for agriculture, to make them no more than 5%. We see that without further technical re-equipment and modernisation of rural areas development of agriculture will be difficult, so emphasis is placed on this" — said Pankov on the media forum in the framework of the United Russia Congress in Moscow, representing the agrarian program of the party.

The Deputy noted that 27% of the population lives in rural areas.

"For us, it was important to solve the main task which was put before the farmers the President, is that agriculture must provide the population with quality, affordable food, so the basic direction we have built on import substitution of agricultural products", — said the MP.

For party it is very important to support not only the large agricultural holdings that have already received a great development, but also small business, said Pankow.

"I believe that the program was launched, which reflects the main directions. I am sure that our farmers, the people who live in rural areas, support the party "United Russia" and the party for five years that takes a comprehensive program to address issues of citizens living in rural areas, and for the further development of agroindustrial complex", — said the head of the Duma Committee.
