According to the report, the Ministry of agriculture of Spain, for the first 4 months of 2016, the country imported 5.27 million tons of grain crops, thus exceeding a similar indicator of last year by 30%.

The main reason behind the need for the implementation of imports was the decline in cereal production in the country: the growth of imports of wheat amounted to 88% to 2.22 million tons, corn to 3% to 2.54 million tonnes, barley - almost 3.5 times, up to 0.35 million tonnes.

The main suppliers of grain in the country became Ukraine and France. Ukraine's share in imports amounted to 1.82 million tons, France - 1.33 million tons. Also Spain bought 0.72 million tons from the United Kingdom, 0.26 million tons from Romania and 61 thousand tons from Russia.
