Authorities in Lipetsk region have announced plans to increase meat and milk production in the region by one third by 2020.

"In difficult nineties Lipetsk breeders managed to save the industry and professionalism. Today the high quality products they provide to the residents not only in Lipetsk region but also several other Russian regions, as well as send it for export," — said at the regional festival, dedicated to the Day of the cattle breeder, the head of the region Oleg Korolev.

According to the press service of the administration, animal is one of the key directions of the agroindustrial complex in Lipetsk. In the first half of 2016, the performance of its development exceeded the best of the Soviet years. So, for the first 6 months of 2016 in the farms of the region produced by 184 thousand tons of meat of all kinds. The industry realized major import-substituting projects: the production of pork, poultry meat, producing its own hatching eggs.
