The Ministry of agriculture gave an overview of the disease, its clinical features, ways of transmission and precautions to breeders of pigs.

The rules for combating the plague is given a list of preventive measures. First establish the grounds for suspicion on ASF and certain actions that must take officials.

Under the new rules will be ASF in the wild. Indicate the sequence of events in the infected foci, as well as conditions of the importation and breeding of wild boar.

Due to the proliferation of hotbeds of ASF into the territory of Kaluga region annually in quarantine fall, entire areas inhabited by tens of thousands of rural residents. From the plague to the population it is prohibited to slaughter cattle and sell the meat of pigs: livestock is destroyed and burned, the damage to farms measured in millions of rubles.

Leonid Gromov, the Chairman of the Ministry, drew attention to the need to conduct explanatory work among the population.
