About 15 thousand animals destroyed at the pig farm in the Lipetsk region, which belongs to the group "Cherkizovo" from-for flashes of the African plague of pigs (Achs). This was announced by Deputy head of the veterinary Department of the Lipetsk region Sergei Stukalin.

"At the pig farm in Lev-Tolstoy district of Lipetsk region has been quarantined because of an outbreak of ASF. There were killed several animals, laboratory tests identified the virus of African swine fever. According to the rules, all the animals that were contained in this complex, shall be destroyed by burning, it is about 14.8 thousand heads", — he said.

This will be the mass destruction of pigs in the Lipetsk region due to ASF.

"In total this year up to this fact, were burned to 4 thousand animals. The damage caused to the company due to the outbreak, is calculated, but this is an accident", — said Sergey Stukalin.

According to the press service of "Cherkizovo", the virus was detected in a small number of animals.

"The diagnosis was confirmed by the state veterinary services. Timely detection and identification of the lesion will allow us to isolate animals with the virus. On this site in the Lipetsk region was about 6% of the total population of sows, there has been quarantined. It will have no impact on the total company's production in 2016", — stated in the message.
