In the event of the Ministry of agriculture was attended by the Deputy Minister Evgeny Gromyko and Director of Department of state regulation in the field of fisheries and aquaculture (fish farming) Evgeny Katz, as well as representatives of Executive bodies of regional authorities, specialists and experts, entrepreneurs of the fishing industry.

Evgeny Gromyko, the opening of the workshop welcoming remarks on behalf of the Minister, noted that fish farming is the most dynamic sector of food production. And it is no coincidence the event was organised in the Astrakhan region, where a few decades is commercial fish farming. While Evgeny Gromyko added that today the traditional methods are not able to increase production volumes and expand the range. Meanwhile, new approaches in farming, introduced in the factories, in the short term will allow to increase volumes of commodity products by 15-20%.

Eugene Katz, in his speech informed about the status of the legal framework in the field of aquaculture and directions of its improvement.

"We need to continue to remove unnecessary administrative barriers in the implementation of commercial fish farming, including in the sphere of water management. In the regulatory framework must take into account regional peculiarities of the South of Russia", — said the head of the relevant Department.

The workshop participants also visited the exhibition "Modern technical means and equipment for commercial fish farming", which presented samples of agricultural machinery and equipment for fish farming and land reclamation.

Outcome of the exhibition was the acquisition of fish farms 14 units of machinery and equipment, as well as the conclusion about fifty promising contracts.
