During the three previous weeks, inflation was also up 0.1%. Since the beginning of October, inflation was 0.2%, since the beginning of the year prices rose by 4.2%. In October 2015, the prices increased by 0.7% in January-October by 11.2%. Over the past week, prices on chickens, milk, sour cream, cottage cheese, cheese, butter increased by 0.3 to 1.0%. At the same time buckwheat became cheaper by 1.6%, sugar- by 0.9%, millet - on 0,4%.

The growth of prices for fruit and vegetables on average amounted to 1.1%, including cucumbers and tomatoes at 10.4% and 9.7%, respectively. At the same time, prices for cabbage decreased by 2.3%, potatoes, carrots, onions and apples - 0.3-1.4 percent.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the forum "Russia calling!" said that inflation in Russia in 2016 will be lower than 6%, hitting a new historic low.

"Inflation is going down, at the beginning of October it amounted to 6.4% in annual terms. I recall that a year ago at the beginning of October of 2015 inflation in annual terms amounted to 15.7% and is now 6.4 percent. We see the progress is obvious. Expected that by the end of 2016 inflation will update the historical minimum and is below 6%. Recall that the lowest level in Russia's recent history was in 2011 it was 6.1 percent", — said the President.

Updated socio-economic forecast of economic development suggests that inflation in Russia in 2016 will drop to 5.8% while maintaining a moderately tight monetary policy, and in 2017 to reach the target level, the Central Bank is 4%.
