In January-August 2016, according to state statistics, Ukraine exported agricultural products worth of $9.1 billion, which was 40.1% of the total national exports for the period. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine.

According to the report, the structure of agricultural exports from Ukraine leading cereals ($3.6 billion), prepared foods ($1.4 billion), the seeds and fruits of oil plants ($0.7 billion) and residues and waste from the food industries ($0.6 billion).

At the same time during the reporting period, Ukraine imported agricultural products at $2.5 billion, which was 10.3% of total imports into the country. The basis of agrarian import of steel finished food products ($1.1 billion), vegetable products ($0.9 billion) and fish and crustaceans ($0.2 billion).
