The Deputy Minister said the prospects for growth and the development of Russian-Uzbek relations in agriculture, in particular in the supply of fruits and vegetables.
"The interest is not only fresh produce, but chilled and processed products. We are ready for comprehensive cooperation with the Uzbek side on this issue and reaffirm their interest in long-term cooperation to increase trade volumes", — said Evgeny Gromyko.
He also noted that for the current period of 2016 compared with last year, the country is 2.3 times increased its import of Uzbek agricultural products that are in demand on the Russian market.
The Deputy Minister also held a working meeting with Minister of foreign economic relations, investments and trade of Uzbekistan Elyor Ganiev. During the talks the sides discussed prospects of bilateral development across various fields of agriculture, including the exchange of experience in implementing agricultural programs, gardening, viticulture and winemaking, breeding and seed production.
