Import of dairy products excluding milk products to the Russian Federation according to the preliminary results of 9 months of 2016, has made 179,4 thousand tons (in the amount of 108.6 million USD). This is 4.7% lower than last year and is 25.0% less than 2014. Last year, the decline in import volumes in the first 9 months amounted to 21.3%. It is stated in the report of the Analytical center Milknews.

The main external supplier of dairy products in Russia is the Republic of Belarus, provided in 2013, 77% of total imports in 2015 and 97% in the first 9 months of 2016 and 94% (imported 168,9 thousand tons).

After the introduction of Russia's special economic measures against a number of countries with the Russian market took dairy products from Finland, Estonia, Poland, France and other countries, providing up to 15% of imports.
