The rate for heavy trucks in the "Plato" will be simultaneously upgraded to 3.06 rubles per kilometer from the current 1.53 rubles from 15 April 2017, the government decree published on the portal of legal information.

"The Russian government decided to extend the preferential regime in the "Plato" to 15 April this year. The expiration will mean a return to the originally installed model, which assumes a rate of 3.06 rubles per kilometer heavy trucks on Federal roads. The weighted average burden on business, including small and medium, will be less than the original model, which assumed a two-step tariff increase in February and June of this year", — said the head of Ministry of transport of Russia Maxim Sokolov.

Tariff indexation for inflation in the range of 2017 and the first half of 2018 won't be made, the Minister said.

The "Plato" was commissioned on 15 November 2015. The money goes to the road Fund in the form of compensation for the destruction of the tracks by trucks weighing more than 12 tons. The Ministry of transport had earlier proposed to raise the tariff from February 2017 to 2.61 rubles per kilometer, in June of the same year to 3.06 rubles per kilometer.
