Document defines the requirements for appearance and quality of fruit and the classification of varieties, and mandatory labeling of genetically modified pineapples.

The draft standard States that products must be a warning if it is genetically modified. If the pineapple contains more than 0.9% GMOs, the label must be given information about them (e.g. "genetically modified foods").

The draft standard also States that the content in fresh pineapples toxic elements, pesticides, radionuclides, helminth eggs and cysts of intestinal pathogenic protozoa, microbiological safety indicators (pathogens) must not exceed the norms already laid by other regulatory legal acts.
