According to him, the quality of recycled materials is much better than imported, while the volume of Russian analogue is not enough.

A possible alternative Europe, the Ministry of agriculture considers the supply of raw materials from Brazil, Chile and New Zealand.

The lack of raw materials for local production can lead to growth of import of ready-made feeds, which will also affect prices. According to the interlocutor of "Kommersant", today the largest players of fully localized production of food in Russia, imports are the point of delivery. Market participants added that they are preparing a letter to the government describing the current situation.

According to Euromonitor International, in 2016, the issue of pet food in Russia grew by 5.7 thousand tonnes to 602,3 thousand tons. In monetary terms, the market volume increased by 13.3% to 152,05 billion rubles., more than 53% of sales controls (Mars brands such as Pedigree, Whiskas, Royal Canin, Kitekat, Chappi, etc.), and 19.8% on Nestle (Purina, Felix, etc.).
