In order to ensure the growth of meat livestock, agricultural Russia need help, said Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
"At present, a significant portion of beef in this country – 85% – is produced from dairy breeds, as it was in Soviet times. While worldwide this is a completely separate industry, beef cattle, beef breeds we have is still not enough. To ensure the growth of livestock beef cattle, farmers need help", — said Dmitry Medvedev at a government meeting.
"Introduced amendments to the law on financial rent, now to the subject of leasing transactions in the agricultural complex is to be attributed not only breeding cattle, but cattle of meat breeds", he added.
This will allow us to expand the base of suppliers of farm animals and to reduce the costs for producers for the purchase of marketable livestock, he said.
