In April 2017 the volume of agricultural production increased by 0.8% compared to April of last year and amounted to 315,4 billion,as compared to March, the growth amounted to 13.6%.

The number of cattle in farms of all agricultural producers at the end of April amounted to 19.5 million head, 1.5% lower than a year earlier. In particular, the number of cows decreased by 1.4% to 8.3 million, sheep and goats – by 0.7%, to 26.7 million, While the number of pigs, according to statistics, increased by 1.3% to 23.2 million.

In January-April 2017 in farms of all categories produced 4.3 million tons (+3.1%) of cattle and poultry for slaughter (in live weight), 9 million tons (+1.5 percent) milk and 14.1 billion (+2,3%) eggs.
