In January-March 2017 the total volume produced in Russia cheese and cottage cheese (including cheese and cottage cheese products) was 2.7% higher than the same period of 2016 (produced 329,9 thousand t cheeses and cottage cheese).

The largest volumes of cheese and cheese products are produced in the Central Federal district (43% of Russia's output in the first quarter of 2017), Siberian FD (20%) and Volga Federal district (19%).
