In the CIS countries increased sales of confectionery products
In five years, sales of sweets in the CIS countries increased by 1.2% – from 4.37 million tonnes in 2012 to 4.42 million tonnes in 2016

Sales growth was driven by post-crisis consumption growth coupled with a growing range of products.

In 2012-2016 in the CIS countries almost half of the total sales of all confectionery products accounted for the pastry. The share of flour products in overall confectionery sales increased from 48% in 2012 to 50% in 2016. The second place by sales was occupied by chocolate confectionery products, whose share in total sales of confectionery products in the CIS, 2012-2016 averaged 33%.

Sale of flour production showed a slight decline in growth rate in the crisis 2014-2016 – 0.5-3.1 percent annually. The strongest rate of decline in sales recorded in chocolate confectionery in 2014, 8,3% over the previous year.
