The scrap quantity of the food products identified by the CPS last year, "according to the results of control of origin, quality and security," increased by 600 thousand tonnes, the newspaper "Izvestia" with reference to the service report "the State of food raw materials and food products" for the year 2016.

In the CPS the publication said that it becomes a defective product that does not meet the requirements of the office: "for Example, there are no accompanying documents that do not allow to trace the origin and way of production, the discrepancy between microbiological and physico-chemical parameters, expired. Products are detected in stores, distribution centers, institutions of social power... is removed from sale and destroyed economic entity", – explained in a press-Department service.

According to the report, compared with 2015, Rospotrebnadzor has removed from sale 11 times more imported milk products (of 116.5 MT) and four times more dairy products of the Russian manufacture (482 t). 1.5-fold increase in the number of rejected service imported meat and meat products (of 287, 5 t). Rejected 7.5 times more fruits and berries domestic production (255,4 t) and five times more vegetables (573,3 t).

Earlier it was reported that for the first quarter of 2017, the territorial bodies of Rospotrebnadzor were rejected more than 15 thousand batches of food products totaling more than 324 tons. The highest rate of discrepancy on microbiological indicators was found among fish (6.1% of all samples studied), poultry (4.5%) and dairy (4.1 percent) products. The proportion of counterfeit products in the first quarter was 4.6%. Among the counterfeit largest share have dairy (7.5%) and imported fish (6,5%) products.
