Russian-Brazilian trade turnover grew by 46% in the first three months of 2017. This was announced June 20, the Brazilian Ambassador to Russia Antonio Luis Espinola Salgado, speaking at the opening ceremony of the intergovernmental forum Brazil – Russia.
"In the first trimester of this year the trade turnover between our countries increased by 46%, he said. — And, according to the last four months of this year, compared with the year 2016 the trade turnover between our countries has increased significantly".
"It is possible that in the near future we will be able to reach our goal of $10 billion a year", — said the Ambassador. According to him, this positive trend stems from the fact that Brazil's economy is recovering from a very serious crisis.
Salgado said that one of the key challenges for the two countries in the economic sphere remains diversification. "In Brazilian exports to Russia the high share of food products, namely meat products, while Russian exports to Brazil – fertilizers", – the Ambassador noted.
