That the government submits to the President a proposal on the renewal response in response to another rollover of EU sanctions, on Thursday said Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. "We will react adequately. Yesterday this was the question we discussed with the President. The government will submit the proposal to extend the retaliatory measures by one year, until 31 December 2018", — said Medvedev at a government meeting yesterday.

First the ban was introduced for one year. In 2015, it was extended to August 5, 2016, June 2016, until the end of 2017. So, now sanctions six months before their expiry extended for a year.

A ban were meat and meat products, milk and dairy products, fish and fish products, vegetables and fruit. From 1 November 2016 food embargo extended to salt. May 20, 2017, lifted the ban on the supply of salt for the production of medicines and biologically active additives.
