In traditional winemaking countries such as France and Italy, less diseases related to alcohol than in Russia because people in Russia often drink hard alcohol, the Minister said in an interview with NTV television.

"We – the country, drinking strong alcoholic drinks: vodka, samogon, and so on. It all takes the health and life of humans, and this (the use of wine – ed.) in moderation will add and change the situation and demographic. And health, I hope, will change for the better", — said Tkachev.

According to the Minister, now in Russia is growing, grape production, and the country has introduced high-quality domestic wine.
