The Minister of agriculture of Russia Alexander Tkachev said that the harvest of 2017 will prevent weather conditions. "If last year was a record harvest of 120 million tons, this year this figure, according to our preliminary estimates, will range from 100 to 105 million tons. We will see a reduction. Cause we all know – not every year is this weather", — said Tkachev, speaking at the all-Russian field day-2017.

"Late spring, a lot of frost is, of course, leads to lower yields. Nevertheless, I want to say that even 100-105 million tons of grain is enough because 40 million for fodder, 20 million food 10 million seeds, 37-38 million tonnes export.

Therefore, we are without bread will not stay in any case", — the Minister added.

He recalled that the harvesting campaign this year has already begun. "Today we have removed 1.5 million tons of grain, and if you take this date last year it was 4 million. We are seriously behind the pace, and that means lag behind on productivity", — said the head of the Ministry.

"For the next years, when the weather will help us – it always happens – we will return to this record figure. Even 120 million is not the limit, 130-150 million tons of grain – is what we need to in 10 years", — said Alexander Tkachev.
