In Dagestan collected about 120 tons of melons.

Today in the Republic of the gross harvest with a yield of more than 250 kg/ha amounted to 85 thousand tons of watermelons and 35 thousand tons of melons. Leaders in harvest management are the Nogai, Kizlyar, babayurtovsky, Kayakentsky districts.

Dagestan is one of the main suppliers to the consumer market food melons (watermelon, melon and pumpkin), the harvest season, which occurred in those days. Gourds of the Republic are appreciated for excellent taste, aided by the hot climate of the southern region of the country.

Note that Dagestan is ranked fourth in the country in terms of production of melons. So, last year in the Republic were produced 230 tons of melons food crops, which accounted for 13% of Russia's output.
