The Ministry of agriculture has proposed changes in trade legislation, including increased fines retailers for selling goods with expired shelf life, said Deputy Minister of agriculture of Russia Yevgeny Nepoklonov, according to AGN. RNS.

"To amend the law № 381 in the first part of ascertaining the cases in which refunds for food products, namely in the presence of the consumer packaging and labeling of products, except for perishable food products with expired shelf life. To provide an opportunity for retailers to sell grocery goods, shelf life which is close to completion, at prices lower than previously stated with the use of promotions and discounts, supplementing article 9 of act 381, and the third is to increase the amount of fines a business entity engaged in commercial activities, the presence on the shelves of trade networks of food products with expired shelf life,"he said.
