Opening the meeting, Dzhambulat Hatuov said that in the last two years there has been growing investor attention to horticulture. The degree of self-sufficiency of the Russian Federation vegetables of the protected ground in 2016 was 46.3%, which is 5.9% higher than in 2015. In 2017, the growth trend is maintained, now the harvest of greenhouse vegetables 21% higher than the same period last year.
Speaking about prospects of development of the industry, the first Deputy Minister stressed that to fully support the country's vegetables, Russian farmers need to increase the annual production of this type of agricultural products not less than 900 thousand tons compared with the crop of 2016. The solution to this issue is the construction of about 1.8 thousand hectares of new greenhouses. Under these conditions, agricultural producers need significant financial support from the state.
"The country's leadership pays great attention to the development of Russian agriculture. We now have the opportunity to provide additional support to our farmers in the amount of 4 billion rubles," — said Dzhambulat Hatuov.
In the framework of the concessional lending facility, the authorized banks will be given credit not only for production and processing of fruits and vegetables, but also for the construction of greenhouses. Despite the long payback period of projects on construction and modernization of greenhouse complexes, their investment attractiveness is obvious.
