Located in the Astrakhan region the plant for production of tomato concentrate APK "Astrakhan" has launched a second processing line.

"The company this year installed a second line, it allows you to increase productivity two times, — said the Executive Director of the plant Alexander Mazaev. — Now a day, we can recycle about 3.5 thousand tons of tomatoes. All in all, the finished product we can produce this year more than 30 thousand tons".

This year the company also doubled the area under cultivation – up to 2,800 ha and began working more technology. "If last year the fields were four harvesting combine, then the twelve," — said the head of the company.

"At the moment we have tomato breeding companies Heinz and Bayer, they are intended for combine harvesting, — said the chief agronomist of the enterprise Vladimir Ryabinin. — Tomatoes are 90% red. Harvesting tomatoes should finish before mid-October. The yield is 80 tonnes per hectare".

Collection of tomatoes started last week. Tomatoes new crop of the plant is processed into concentrate. At the moment, has collected 4,5 thousand tons of vegetables, the expected gross yield of 226 thousand tons.
