Ilya Shestakov said that on the basis of subordinated to the Federal Agency for fishery institutions are created by the breeding centers for the species of fish: carp, sturgeon and trout. The meeting discussed the implementation of the road map on realization of the actions directed on development of breeding base of domestic fish farming for the period 2017-2018, and preparation of veterinary regulations in the field of aquaculture.

"By 2030 the volume of commercial aquaculture production should reach 700 thousand tons. To exit this level should resume the system of selection and breeding work in fish culture, and to strengthen the system of ensuring veterinary safety", – said Ilya Shestakov.

The main report on the implementation of the road map in the development of breeding base, the Deputy Director of the Department of animal husbandry and breeding Ministry of agriculture of Russia Galina Safina.

She noted that today in the state breeding register number of 38 species of fish, breeding base in fish farming are 40 farms, most of them breeding plants and pedigree reproducers 8. Galina Safina said about the lack of positive dynamics in this direction and recommended to organize the work of associations and genetic laboratories, which will facilitate the effective development of aquaculture.

Currently, for the capacity development of breeding base in fish farming and related departments Ministry of agriculture, fishery Agency, Association "Rosrybhoz" and branch research organizations are working on the implementation of the road map. The document contains two parts: the first concerns the regulatory framework, the second – creation of structure of livestock breeding. So, in 2017, provides for the development of the draft order "On amendments to order of Ministry of agriculture of Russia of 17 November 2011 № 431 Rules in the field of livestock breeding "Types of organizations working in the field of livestock breeding."

Still one of the most important events in the "road map" is the creation this year of breeding centers (associations) according to the breeds of fish we are talking about organizations that carry out scientific-methodical, information and service provision selection and breeding work with a specific breed on the territory of Russia. They will contribute to the creation of highly productive pedigree livestock of fish.

Great attention is paid to the question of actualization of veterinary regulations in fish farming. The meeting also discussed the issue of safe operation of hydraulic structures in water resources use and environmental protection programmes for the development of pond aquaculture.

In the working group meeting was attended by representatives of relevant departments of the Ministry of agriculture and offices of the Agency, research institutes, industry associations proposals to improve legislation in the field of aquaculture.
