Over the past eight months Kazakhstan produced 647,6 thousands of tons of prepared feeds for farm animals, 4% more than last year, according to Energyprom.

A large part of the production — about 82% — are concentrated in Karaganda, Almaty, Akmola and North Kazakhstan regions.

Despite the growth of production volumes in Kazakhstan, there is a shortage of feed for domestic production. The total demand to be around 5 million tons per year. For today feed provided 48% of total demand.

It is noted that in General there is a positive dynamics of increasing the production of animal feed.

It is also reported that by the end of August prices of enterprises-producers of finished feed for cattle has increased by 31.6% for the year to 43.23 thousand tenge per ton. The cost of feed for pigs has not changed — growth of just 0.1% for the year, remaining at the level 79,93 thousand tenge per ton. Feed prices for poultry made up 99,82 thousand tenge per ton.

The development of the feed industry is provided by the state Program of agribusiness for the years 2017-2021. To increase the volume of feed production and exports, expansion of areas under crops of barley, oats and corn.
