"Currently in Russia, a system of support of export of agricultural products and our goal is to make it competitive in the advanced level of foreign countries. In recent years we have seen positive dynamics and great potential in this direction. Agricultural production for the years 2014-2016 has increased by more than 11%. According to preliminary data, in 2017 the export of agricultural products amounted to 20.1 billion U.S. dollars", - said Alexander Tkachev.

The Minister added that the volume of agricultural exports over the last 17 years increased 15 times (in 2016 17.1 billion USD, in 2000 - 1.3 billion USD).

In addition, the export of grain, according to operative data of the Federal customs service of Russia, on 24 January amounted to 29.8 million tons, which is 35% higher than the same period last season (22 million tons).

Increased due to the record crop export potential will allow the export of this agricultural year of the order of 45-47 million tons of grain.

According to the head of the Ministry of agriculture, the growth of exports provides farmers with additional markets and new investments in domestic agriculture.

The Minister noted the importance of joint work in this direction with the business community and other stakeholders.

To increase export potential by the Ministry of agriculture from the beginning of 2017, the priority is implemented the project "Export of agricultural products", which laid the Foundation to support and promote exports from the state.

Deputy Minister of agriculture of Russia Evgeny Gromyko spoke about the implementation of the priority project "the Export of agricultural products" and the development of strategically important directions of increasing exports of agricultural products.

Director for export policy and analysis of JSC "Russian export centre," Michael Snow reported on the outcome of the export seminar to establish priorities of export in the direction of "agriculture and food products".

Proposals for the development of export of agricultural products is also expressed by the representatives of the Ministry, the Rosselkhoznadzor and the expert community.
