In 2017, the establishment of the CPS has tested more than 73 thousand fish samples and products made of aquatic resources. The samples were studied using microbiological, physico-chemical, parasitological, sanitary-chemical indicators, and radioactive substances.

On sanitary-chemical indicators of 0.4% of samples did not meet the established requirements. Microbiological indicators 6% of samples did not meet sanitary-epidemiological norms. Tests for parasitological indicators were not in 1.1% of samples of fish and seafood.

As reported Fishnews in the press service of Rospotrebnadzor, during inspections rejected and removed from sale about 6 thousand batches of fish and seafood weighing more than 37 tons. Major violations – failure to observe of expiry dates and storage conditions of the products installed by the manufacturer, non-compliance on the contents of the glaze and the lack of labeling on products.

The Ministry said that the share of imported fish products that violate the rules on the content of the glaze, turned out to be three times higher than domestic. More than 20% of the samples of fish imports contained an excessive amount of glaze.

Buyers, the CPS recommends that when choosing a fish to pay attention to the conditions of sale of products, the integrity of its packaging, information about the date of production and the end of the implementation period, and for glazed products information on the percentage of glaze.
